How We Rank the Weapon Tier List
This is an editorial ranking framework for the VOODOO Monster Survivors App, not an official VOODOO list or a fixed DPS claim. Each placement uses the same 100-point framework so the list can be compared across general progression and high-wave play. Recheck the result against your current version, weapon rank and account resources.
- S-Tier (Meta Defining): Leads across several scoring categories and remains reliable when waves become dense.
- A-Tier (Strong & Reliable): Strong weapons with a narrower advantage or a higher investment requirement.
- B-Tier (Situational): Works when the map, hero, rank or loadout supplies the missing conditions.
- C-Tier (Weak): Falls behind on the framework unless a specific account state makes it temporarily useful.
How consistently the weapon clears lanes, groups and multi-direction pressure.
How well it finishes elites and bosses without abandoning normal-wave coverage.
How reliably damage, reach or utility improves as the weapon develops.
How much positioning freedom and survival margin the weapon provides.
How efficiently current levels, ranks and upgrades translate into a usable slot.
This page answers where a weapon ranks overall. For the separate question of which weapon fits crowd clear, boss damage or a first-weapon route, use the Best Weapons by Role guide.
S-Tier Weapons (Meta Defining)
Plasma Rifle / Beam
Placed in S-Tier in this editorial framework because its current role profile favors broad lane coverage and scalable damage. Treat it as a strong comparison point for dense waves, not a mandatory pick; results can change with the current version and account investment.
Database StatsSword
Placed in S-Tier here for its close-range pressure and potential scaling. It rewards deliberate movement and may fit some heroes or account states better than others, so compare its development cost before switching.
Database StatsA-Tier Weapons (Strong & Reliable)
Axe
The Axe orbits your character and can provide a defensive close-range profile. It is placed in A-Tier here because its value depends on enemy density, attack speed investment and how safely the account can stay near threats.
Database StatsChain Lightning
Chain Lightning is a useful comparison for scattered-mob coverage because its bounce pattern reduces aiming pressure. It sits in A-Tier in this framework when boss pressure or upgrade investment makes the S-Tier profile more attractive.
Database StatsShotgun
Shotgun is a close-range burst option for elites, bosses or an escape route through nearby mobs. Its A-Tier placement assumes the player can manage the extra positioning risk and develop the weapon enough for the intended role.
Database StatsWand / Magic Staff
Wand / Magic Staff offers a long-range profile that can benefit from attack-speed investment. Its A-Tier placement is a comparison guideline; check the current card, upgrade path and hero fit before treating it as a default pick.
Database StatsB-Tier & C-Tier Weapons (Situational Picks)
Frostbite / Ice Dagger (B-Tier)
Frostbite / Ice Dagger is placed in B-Tier when its Slow/Freeze utility solves a run-specific problem. It is better evaluated as a control slot alongside a damage source than as a complete damage plan.
Database StatsFists / Crossbow (C-Tier)
Fists / Crossbow are C-Tier in this current framework because their role profile is narrower than the higher-ranked comparisons. They can still be a practical bridge when their current rank or upgrade cost is favorable.
View CrossbowShould You Merge Lower Tier Weapons?
A common question is whether you should merge a lower-tier weapon into a higher-rarity item. Compare the current level, rank, next upgrade and resource cost shown in your game before following the label; a developed lower-ranked weapon can be more useful than a fresh higher-ranked option.
Use the S–C list as a comparison tool, then route the actual choice to the Best Weapons by Role guide when the question is crowd clear, boss damage or a first weapon. Exact damage, rarity behavior and merge rules should be checked against the current in-game screen.
