Tier List Ranking Methodology
This ranking is based on the FreezeNova 2026 build. The meta heavily favors Area of Effect (AoE) weapons and reliable Crowd Control (CC) tools that can handle swarms above Wave 20+.
- S-Tier (Meta Defining): Absolutely mandatory weapons. They provide exponential damage scaling or perfect defense.
- A-Tier (Strong & Reliable): Excellent choices that can easily clear most of the game, provided you have good synergy.
- B-Tier (Situational): Weapons that work well under specific conditions or with specific heroes, but fall off otherwise.
- C-Tier (Weak): Generally not recommended for late-game. Replace these when possible.
S-Tier Weapons (Meta Defining)
Plasma Rifle / Beam
The undisputed king of the late game. The Plasma Beam fires massive laser columns that incinerate entire hordes in a straight line. Often cited by the community as "mandatory" for surviving past Wave 20.
Database StatsSword
An incredibly reliable melee weapon that sweeps in front of the player. Upgrading the Sword increases its range and damage exponentially. It forms the backbone of most protective builds.
Database StatsA-Tier Weapons (Strong & Reliable)
Axe
The Axe orbits your character, creating a barrier of damage. It is a fantastic defensive tool for blocking incoming enemies but its attack speed can lag against extremely dense, high-HP swarms compared to S-Tier options.
Database StatsChain Lightning
Excellent for clearing out scattered mobs during the early to mid-game. It jumps automatically between enemies, taking the pressure off your aiming. It only falls out of S-Tier because of lower raw boss damage.
Database StatsShotgun
Deals massive burst damage at very close range. An exceptional tool for directly engaging Elite enemies or carving an escape path through a wall of mobs.
Database StatsWand / Magic Staff
Highly efficient, long-range magical attacks. It scales incredibly well with Attack Speed upgrades, turning into a rapid-fire magic machine gun late game.
Database StatsB-Tier & C-Tier Weapons (Situational Picks)
Frostbite / Ice Dagger (B-Tier)
Deals inherently low damage, but applies a Slow/Freeze effect. It is a pure Crowd-Control utility weapon. It will not win the game alone, but is great when paired with Rocket Launchers.
Database StatsFists / Crossbow (C-Tier)
Very basic early-game tools. While decent at Wave 1, their lack of AoE scaling means they fall off rapidly. Use them only until you find something better in a chest or shop.
View CrossbowShould You Merge Lower Tier Weapons?
A common question is whether you should merge three C-Tier weapons into one higher-rarity tier. In Monster Survivors' merge system (combining 3 identical items to upgrade their color rarity), stat inflation often beats raw weapon tier.
A Legendary (Gold) Crossbow will deal significantly more damage than a Common (White) Plasma Gun. Always upgrade what you find, but transition to the S-Tier and A-Tier meta picks whenever you Secure Epic/Legendary versions of them.
