How to Play the Knight
The Knight is the quintessential starting character in FreezeNova's Monster Survivors. Do not mistake his default status for weakness. Ranked solidly in our Tier List as an A-Tier hero, the Knight offers unparalleled forgiveness for players learning the spawn patterns of the game.
Leveraging the +10% Movement Speed
In a game where avoiding contact damage is paramount, his innate +10% movement speed gives you a permanent, passive edge. This seemingly small boost allows you to herd massive trains of enemies (like pumpkins and slow crabs) into tight clusters without them ever touching your hitbox.
Short Sword Spacing
His starting weapon, the Short Sword (or Steel Sword at higher rarities), attacks directly in front of him. This requires a "Hit-and-Run" or "Strafe" playstyle. You must actively point the Knight toward the encroaching mob to swing, then immediately sidestep using his bonus speed to avoid retaliation.
Best Knight Builds (Synergies)
Because the Knight starts heavily reliant on close-quarters physical combat, your mid-game transition must either reinforce his tankiness or expand his Area of Effect (AoE) so you don't instantly die past wave 10.
The Holy Paladin Build
Focuses on evolving the starting weapon through utility synergies.
- Core Weapon Synergy: Keep the Short Sword, and prioritize picking up the Holy Cross when it appears in the upgrade pool.
- Evolution Goal: These weapons synergize to eventually output the Holy Sword, a devastating area-denial weapon that covers the Knight's melee vulnerabilities.
- Secondary Weapons: Grab the Holy Book to add a physical orbit barrier. Your +10% movement speed ensures enemies trapped in the book's radius take continuous damage as you run circles around them.
Recommended Passive Upgrades
The primary multiplier for sword damage. The faster you swing, the safer your immediate vanguard is.
Scales aggressively on the short sword, allowing you to one-shot medium-tier enemies in the mid-game.
Literally extends the length of your sword swing, solving the Knight's biggest glaring weakness: range.
Stacking this on top of his base +10% passive turns him into an untouchable kite master.
