Understanding Balencio
Balencio is arguably the most mechanically distinct character in FreezeNova's Monster Survivors. While heroes like Arcanix or Echo sit comfortably at the top of the Tier List due to their immense damage scaling, Balencio resides in the B-Tier because he trades almost all of his offensive potential for pure, unadulterated survivability.
The Parkour & Jump Mechanics
Balencio is designed around a Parkour/Jumper archetype. In situations where a Knight or Mage would be helplessly cornered against a map boundary by a wall of enemies, Balencio can leverage his evasion-focused toolkit to literally navigate out of inescapable deathtraps. He is an exceptionally forgiving character for players who constantly find themselves out of position.
The Trade-Off: Low Damage Scaling
The reason he is not recommended for Wave 20+ progression runs is his lack of offensive synergy. Because his base kit provides zero multipliers for Attack Speed, Crit Damage, or Area Expansion, you will find it increasingly difficult to actually kill Bosses before the map becomes too saturated with hazards.
Best Balencio Builds (Synergies)
Since Balencio cannot out-damage the late-game scaling of the horde, your build must focus entirely on opening up escape routes and maximizing defensive layers. By leaning into his "untouchable" identity, you can stall out waves longer than any other hero.
The Untouchable Runner Build
A build dedicated to never taking a hit and blasting open blocked paths.
- Path-Clearing Weapons: Forget about swords. You need the Shotgun and the Rocket Launcher. You aren't using these to clear the map; you are using their massive Knockback properties to blast a hole in the enemy wall so Balencio can jump through.
- Defensive Gear Set: Equip the Cursed Helmet. This is a non-negotiable item for Balencio as it provides a flat Dodge bonus, heavily synergizing with his evasion-centric playstyle.
- Area Denial: Pick up the Fire Wand to leave burning zones behind you as you infinitely kite enemies around the map edges.
Recommended Passive Upgrades
Balencio's primary defensive stat. Stack this with your Cursed Helmet to rely on RNG to phase through attacks when parkour fails.
The faster you run, the less likely enemies can box you into a corner that requires you to use your jumping evasions.
Because you will inevitably get hit while trying to squeak through tight gaps, raw HP is far more valuable to Balencio than Lifesteal.
Boost this to ensure your Shotgun always pushes elite enemies back far enough to run past them.
