Is Monster Survivors Offline?

Stuck on a plane, riding the subway, or dealing with terrible school Wi-Fi? Here is exactly how to play without an internet connection.

How to Play the Web Version Offline (The Cache Trick)

If you don't want to download sketchy APK files or deal with App Store restrictions, you can use the built-in power of modern web browsers to play the official FreezeNova version completely offline. Follow these three steps before you lose service:

1

Connect and Open the Web Portal

While you still have a stable internet connection (at home or in a café), open our official Play Online Page on your laptop, Chromebook, or mobile browser.

2

Let the Engine Load

Wait for the game's Unity/HTML5 loading bar to reach 100%. Click the "Play" button so that you reach the game's main Title Menu. This forces your browser to download and temporary cache all the monsters, maps, and sound files.

3

Disconnect and Keep the Tab Open

You can now safely turn on Airplane Mode or disconnect from the Wi-Fi. As long as you do not close the browser tab or hit refresh, you can play infinite runs of Monster Survivors completely offline.

Crucial Warning

Don't Go Offline Unprepared!

If you are going offline, you won't be able to Google new strategies when you inevitably get stuck on Wave 15. Open the following tabs right now so you can read them while playing offline:

Does my progress save when playing offline?

Yes. When playing the browser version of Monster Survivors offline, your gold, unlocked heroes, and weapon upgrades are stored locally in your browser's persistent cache (Web Storage API). The next time you reconnect to the internet and refresh the page, your progress remains completely intact. Just ensure you aren't playing in "Incognito" or "Private Browsing" mode, as closing that window will delete the temporary offline save.
